Unfair Trudeau Carbon Tax Penalizes Farmers and Rural Canadians

The Trudeau government has finally admitted what Saskatchewan has known for seven YEARS — the carbon tax is fundamentally unfair to rural Canadians. But the Liberal government is only giving a small, temporary carbon tax break to those who heat their homes with oil, primarily in Atlantic Canada. Trudeau’s own Rural Economic Development Minister admitted this is crassly political – they voted Liberal!

In the meantime, the Trudeau Government helped stall and gut a bill to exempt ag operations from the carbon tax — once again penalizing prairie farmers.

I ask the Trudeau Government Senate Leader: Why does this Government continue to punish western farmers and rural Canadians? Don’t they elect enough Liberals?
