Trudeau Government Senate Leader on Carbon Tax: “No Apologies” for Sticking It to Farmers!

Conservatives have long maintained that Canada’s farmers should be exempted from paying carbon tax on all farm fuels. But not the Trudeau government: first, they told farmers they didn’t need a carbon tax exemption. Then they fixed only a small part.

But when a Private Member’s Bill to correct this passed the House of Commons with all-party support, Trudeau-appointed Senators – including the Government’s own Senate Leader and Deputy Leader — tried to delay it and gutted the bill at committee. Who gave those orders – PMO?

Why is this Trudeau government so determined to hurt farmers with their punitive carbon tax?
