Senator Denise Batters Stands Up for the Proud Environmental Record of Canada’s Oil + Gas Sector
This week at the Senate’s Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee at its study on Climate Change: Canadian Oil and Gas Industry, I defended Canada’s oil and gas sector’s proud environmental record, when senior Natural Resources Canada officials did not. Our energy industry has already significantly decreased greenhouse gas intensity in the past several years. The oil and gas sector is socially responsible, capably governed, and environmentally sound. This is the heartbeat of our Canadian economy.
