Why Put Canadian Women at Risk With Assisted Suicide for Mental Illness?
The Trudeau Government’s own gender-based analysis of its bill expanding assisted suicide to people with mental illness shows that women will be disproportionately adversely affected. It says “we would see an increase in women seeking [medical assistance in dying] for psychiatric suffering, and at younger ages.” The courts have not mandated this expansion. Canadians and psychiatrists don’t want it. And (especially) women will pay for it with their lives. Why won’t this government stop?
Watch me ask Trudeau’s Justice Minister in the Senate Chamber on International Women’s Day.
