Marijuana Law Is #JustNotReady: Top Health Canada Official Proves It
Senator Denise Batters questions top officials from the Government of Canada’s Health department at the Senate’s Legal committee. In answers to key questions about this legislation, they prove that the Trudeau marijuana legalization law is just not ready.
The Trudeau government claims that a major objective of Bill C-45 is to protect children. Senator Batters asks whether the design of the marijuana packaging logo just released by the federal Health Department actually thwarts that objective. She shows the committee that the marijuana logo mandated for packaging is very similar to Hockey Canada logos — which clearly is highly appealing to Canadian children. Senator Batters also presses Health Canada on the cost and process for selecting the company who profited from this logo design. The top officials from the Health Department present at the committee could not answer most of these important questions, and never did provide the Senate Legal committee with follow up answers in the three months prior to Bill C-45 passing the Senate.
