Trudeau government’s “independent” judicial appointment process
Last month in a stunning media report, it was revealed that the Trudeau government’s so-called “independent, arm’s length” judicial appointment process may have involved then Liberal Cabinet Minister Jim Carr’s wife, who sits on the Manitoba Queen’s Bench Court.
This media account stated that this judge was in direct communication with the Justice Minister’s office to advocate for her preferred judicial candidates. This tells us that she somehow knew who was on the highly secretive Judicial Advisory Committee-approved list.
